  • Improving air quality by halting the burning of fossil fuels
  • Cleaner air extends the life of current plant equipment 
  • Supports Midwest workforce -100% of project workers are sourced from the Midwest (90% coming from a Mid-Michigan company and 10% coming from an Indiana company)
  • Propels the Energy Transition Plan forward
  • Creates research opportunities for MSU faculty and students
  • Saves MSU an estimated $10 million in energy costs
  • That $10 million saved will help cut tuition costs for students
  • Moderate weather protection for covered cars (mainly from overheating from sun exposure)
  • Situates MSU as a role model for renewable energy on campuses
